The Source of Mortgage Money
Where does mortgage money actually come from? When you get a $500K mortgage, who actually writes the checks? Most people have no idea. Does it come from a bank? Beat the Crunch and Make Money From Your House

Are you afraid of everything financial right now?  Do the very words 'Credit Crunch' strike fear into your very being?  You're not alone. Would you like to realise the spare money you have tucked away in your home, and you didn't know you had? Do you know the practically every family has around £2-3,000 of stuff, or clutter if you like, lying around their home.  So why not get out there and de-clutter your home and make some cash into the bargain. Round up all your loose change for starters, and don't forget to look down the back of the sofa! You'll be surprised just how much you can find in drawers, in pockets, in jars and dishes, and just lying around. Check those old handbags in the closet. We usually have a pile of loose change on the kitchen side.  I guess you do too.  Don't worry if you have to carry a pile of coins down the street, you can put them in a jar and take them into the bank or post office.  Local shops are usually delighted to get their hands on small change, so remember to take it when you next go down town. Right, that's the odd coins dealt with.  Now for other stuff… Look out all the things no longer used or needed.  Any old unwanted items such as jewellery, unwanted gifts, old pictures gathering dust in the attic.  All these have value.  Try selling them on eBay.  You'll be surprised how much you'll make.  You'll need to take digital photos of each item, and write a short and accurate description of the item, and don't forget to mention any damage in the description.  It doesn't matter about the damage, just remember to mention it.  It's not going to please a buyer to receive something that's damaged when they thought it was perfect. Search for stuff that could be worth selling.  Do you have any old albums and 45s that might fetch a tidy sum?  Old clocks, old lamps, anything from the 70s and earlier could be worth something.  The more garish and lurid it is, the better the chance of having value!  If in doubt check out eBay and see what similar items are fetching. If you're lucky enough to have something special in your home, do get it professionally valued before selling.  You could be pleasantly surprised! Then there's the boot sale.  Boot sales are really excellent for disposing of all sorts of clutter. One man's junk is another man's treasure.  You'll be surprised at just how much cash you can make in a morning.  It won't all go in one sale of course, but you'll get a great deal of satisfaction when you come home with a much emptier car or trailer!  Get out early for a good pitch.  Ask sensible prices for your goods, just think what price you yourself might be prepared to pay.  Don't forget you can haggle too! Lastly if you have stuff that you really don't think is worth anything, before you take it to the tip, stop for a minute and think. If you can it's better to recycle stuff than merely throw it out.  See if someone else could use it.  Try your local exchange or recycle shop, but remember it's just an exchange shop, and you should not expect to try and sell stuff you get from there, merely exchange items.
